| | #1 - Extra Virgin Olive Oil (cold pressed)
The word 'cold pressed' is served as an commercial wording(to raise it's value). But whatever it is, getting a cold pressed than a not cold pressed is always better.
Why Olive Oil? (Sources from wikipedia and various sites)
* It is an oil commonly used in cosmetics and soaps. (not to mention cooking and all) * An oil used in Oil Cleansing Method * Has a preventive effect on the formation of tumors and skin cancer * Jeanne Calment, longest confirmed lifespan, said she maintains her longevity and good skin with Olive Oil by adding it to everything she eats and rubbed into her skin. * It has been used as a skincare product since the ancient times.
Starting out Olive Oil on body
After getting these results doing these research, I decided to give it a try. I was having rashes on my arm at the same spot for over months already. I tried out EVOO on my body, and the next day, my rashes bumps became tinier and less itchy, and my legs are no longer scaly.
It was very oily when applying. But soon after the skin absorbs, it's silky smooth ! It also has a bad odour, but I think you can add in some essential oils to correct the smell.
Going on face
After getting good results on my body, I finally decided to give it a try on my face. BUT, I tried it out at my eye are first. Afraid of getting pimples. It is an extremely good makeup remover - I SWEAR THIS WITH MY LIFE. It cleanses every bit of your mascara, even the thickest waterproof makeup. It is the cheapest, fastest and easiest makeup remover I had ever used !
Tips during makeup removing
To remove makeup more gently and efficiently, dab a bit of oil and rub around your eye areas until your makeup dissolve. Clean the residue with a cotton pad. Repeat this step if necessary.
Making it an overall makeup remover
After a few days, I noticed there's no acne or clog pores for me, i proceeded to the rest of my face. I will use a cotton pad soaked with olive oil and rub it all over my face. You'll see how fast it cleanses the makeup on the cotton pad. Usually, I will cleanse till no more makeup appear on the cotton pad, and leave these oil on my face.
Don't waste the oil. Use it as an facial treatment.
I then go to the bathroom, shut the doors and windows tight. I will bathe like normal, but carefully not to let any water get on my face. At about the end of bathing, the bathroom should be filled with steam. And that's it ! Facial suana ! Totally free and economic. And finally at the end of bathing, you're ready to wash the oil off, with a gentle soapy facial wash.
End results?
It's definitely a whitening miracle. It lightens scars, brighten skin tone and moisturize !
Notes
* I suggest you to use the finest grade of EVOO, from countries like Italy.
* Not everyone has the same skin type. Some people will find olive oil pores clogging. In case of getting acne, you may wish to follow the steps I did.
Alternative makeup removers
And if it is pores clogging to you, fret not. You can still enjoy the EVOO as an eye makeup remover, and replace the face makeup remover with cetaphil(works fantastic for me too!) .
Cetaphil is P.H balanced, gentle and even suitable for the most sensitive skin.
Rub your face with Cetaphil till the makeup loosen, then wipe off with a piece of tissue/cotton wool. Then rinse.
